Top 10 Fitness Promo Videos For You To Steal
My gift to you this Christmas - the gift of inspiration.
The fat man is coming.
I'm not even talking about Santa; I'm talking about the bloated, insatiable Uncle Sam coming for your tax dollars after this year's over.
Listen, nobody likes paying taxes. But here's how I've always looked at it - If you pay a ton in taxes, it's a good problem to have.
However, please don't be the poor bastard who has a complete freakout come tax season. Instead, crack open your Quickbooks, talk to your bookkeeper and CPA and get an estimate of what you'll owe in 2022.
And if you can afford it, I highly recommend a bookkeeper. And if you want the best, I highly recommend the crew over at Incite Tax.
They're the best in the business, and if you're the type of person who needs a calculated ROI, trust me, it's there with this company.
I hope you all have a great holiday.
See you back, same place, same time on January 3rd.
Ho ho ho.

Video Storytelling Is Hard...
But let’s make it easier with these tips + peer-to-peer inspiration…
Several issues back, I shared some of my favorite microgym marketing campaigns. The majority of those examples were single image-based. While they definitely packed a punch from a branding perspective, I had many of you reach out asking for great examples of promo videos.
Now before you start binging the videos below, here are a few steps for you to take so that you can actually convert the inspiration from these videos into a similar product for your brand:
1. Hire or at least interview a videographer.
You're going to need to know what a:15, :30, or :60+ video is going to cost you. You've done the storyboarding by taking inspiration from another concept, which will make their job easier. But be careful - videographers are artists and may want to put their own "spin" on it, which may completely alter the message. So be very clear with what you expect the outcome of the final draft to be.
2. Provide the talent yourself.
Models and extras are expensive. You have plenty of them within your membership, friends, and family - so use them! Make sure you select the right people to connect with your avatar prospect who will view the video. If your ideal avatar is 40-year-old parents, don't show the sexy 23-year-olds performing crazy fitness feats.
3. Budget for this.
A promo video will probably cost you anywhere between $800-$5000+ depending on how complicated of a shoot you plan. Beware of friends or members who offer to do it for free. Not because of their ability to create a quality product, but because of the universal truth that those doing work for money will work harder than those who are not (generally speaking).
Ok, now let's roll that beautiful fit footage (in no particular order).
1. Camp Gladiator, The CG Experience- By far one of my favorite promos that genuinely details the client experience and addresses two common obstacles that prevent people from trying out a group fitness service; intimidation and the desire to wait to try a new workout until they can convince a friend to try it with them.
2. Urban MVMNT, FIND YOUR MVMNT Campaign- Sure, I'm biased, but this campaign was a huge hit, and the various "niches" we focused on resonated with our ideal avatar audience.
3. 1Rebel, It's Showtime- One of the premier fitness brands in the UK, they effectively convey that their gym is unlike any gym you've ever been to.
4. Alchemy 365, Introducing The Torpedo - This was the promo video created for the Kickstarter that got the Torpedo launched and created one of Alchemy's many uniques.
5. MADabolic, A Look Inside- The problem is that most of our prospects don't have a clear idea of what we do, and if your social media is a disaster, you're doing negative brand work. MADabolic nailed this one, bringing viewers into one of their classes while keeping their grit-style branding intact.
6. Basecamp Fitness, You Only Need 35 Minutes- The boutique brand that uses 35-minute classes as their unique sales proposition ensured viewers felt the fast-paced energy to break the belief that one needs to spend an hour in the gym to get a killer workout.
7. CrossFit Aschaffenburg, Perfecting the Montage- Montages are my favorite style of promo video for a microgym because you can make them weekly with minimal gear and editing skills. And the crew over at CF Aschaffenburg (whom I've had the pleasure to work with) highlights their 'unapologetically CrossFit' brand perfectly here.
8. SkyLab Fitness, Age is Just A Number- Another client of mine, SkyLab Fitness, created this video after taking inspiration from Urban MVMNT 's campaign and did a fantastic job highlighting their target demo for their 55+ class. Watch now.
9. Vitality Fitness, His and Hers Fitness- The epic company that is Vitality Fitness has really added to their media assets in the past few years, and this promo video aimed directly at their target demo is no exception. Watch now.
10. You're Up! You've got the inspiration, and you know someone who can shoot a video (or you can hire one), so what the fuck are you waiting for? My hope is that next year's issue will highlight one of your creations.
